Thrive Events Highlights Popular TED Talks

Our team at Thrive Events has been inspired by TED Talks. TED, which stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design, is a set of conferences which center on a variety of scientific, cultural, and academic topics. Luminaries such as Bill Clinton, Jane Goodall, and Bill Gates have given presentations at these wildly popular events. Here are some of our favorite talks:

• “How Schools Kill Creativity,” by Ken Robinson: Sir Kenneth Robinson challenges viewers to reconsider the way we teach our children. He urges educators to allow students to try new things and make mistakes. At Thrive Events, we encourage our associates to do the same.

• “Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are,” by Amy Cuddy: Social scientist Cuddy knows a few things about presenting yourself for success. How you position yourself says a lot about you, so Cuddy offers a quick primer which will encourage you to sit up straight at your next meeting.

• “How Great Leaders Inspire Action,” by Simon Sinek: Sinek wants you to become a nonconformist, like many iconic figures in history. When you demonstrate passion for what you believe in, people listen. Companies such as Apple have mastered this technique. Your business can, too.

• “The Power of Vulnerability,” by Brene Brown: Brown, a research professor at the University of Houston, wants you to be true to yourself. When you are authentic and accept who you are, you can connect with others in more meaningful ways.

The next time you have an extra few minutes, power up your computer and listen to a TED Talk. Our team at Thrive Events hopes you are energized by what you hear.
